Hi. I’m J Lee. I’m a wife, mother, writer and educator among many other things. Although I currently reside in Miami, Florida, home will always be Upstate New York, and I daydream about my return on a daily basis.
I’m relatively new to the stay-at-home mama scene. In what, now, feels like a previous life, I taught for six years in the Florida Public School System. In early 2013, I temporarily left teaching to focus on the completion of my graduate thesis, a childhood memoir (which I’m currently revising). I have since continued to stay home with my daughter, Poet, and I’m eternally grateful that my husband works so hard to make this possible. Every day with her is both a gift and an adventure.
In addition to caring for my daughter, I have a passion for reading, writing, documentaries and preparing healthy food. I made the decision to pursue a vegan lifestyle several years ago, and I strive to ensure our home is void of dangerous food additives and chemicals. I also belong to the camp that believes apple cider vinegar and coconut oil can cure pretty much any ailment.
I hold a BA in English Writing Arts from SUNY Oswego and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. I hope to teach at the college level in the not-so-distant future.
